  • Document management centralisation

Doc X-Ray is a powerful machine-learning technology that estimates the authenticity and correctness of your clients' PDF documents.

How does Doc X-Ray work?

Documents can be uploaded either during the creation of a new case or from the Documents tab of an existing case. Doc X-Ray can read an exhaustive list of documents, including financial statements, bank statements, bank details, registration documents, and ID cards.

To extract information from a document, we use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology. However, OCR technology only works on "True PDF" documents. A True PDF is a digital document converted into a PDF format using a software. On True PDF, the text is separated from images and both the meta-data and the characters in the text hold an electronic character designation.

Once you have successfully uploaded your client documentation, our OCR technology will immediately begin analyzing it. The classification and display of the detailed report will be available within a few minutes after the upload.

Doc Viewer

Doc Viewer allows you to view your client’s documents uploaded on the October Connect platform. The Doc Viewer has three tabs for each document:

  • Doc View displays the document and any associated alerts,

  • Docs Comparison allows you to compare the first and last detected version of an altered document,

  • Doc Info provides an overview of the main information related to how the document was generated.

Doc Viewer is the central tool of Doc X-Ray. It displays the documents uploaded by users on the platform and enables you to navigate, search for specific pages, zoom in and out within a document and rotate it.

Doc X-Ray analysis and alerts

Thanks to the OCR technology, Doc X-Ray can extract the type and period of each document, displaying the right classification on the Documents tab.

Furthermore, Doc X-Ray analyzes the metadata and text of PDF documents to ensure their authenticity. If any modifications or manipulations are detected, alerts will appear on the Doc Viewer to investigate why a document may be suspicious or fraudulent.

Based on the number and intensity of alerts raised on all uploaded documents, the Doc X-Ray module is given an overall score from A to E, indicating its overall positive or negative performance. Learn more on how to detect fraud attempts using Doc X-Ray.

Keep track of your documents

Doc X-Ray can also be used to centralize your documentation management. As an October Connect user, you can have a comprehensive view of your clients' documentation, which will be automatically parsed and categorized.
